Dstl is responsible for designing, developing and applying the very latest in science and technology for the benefit of UK defence and security, across government. In our work, we partner with other brilliant people - collaborating with everyone from small companies and world-class universities, to large defence organisations and other nations. Together, we develop cutting-edge technologies, based on deep and widespread research.

We are looking for Procurement Managers who want to work in an organisation like no other.

Working at Dstl provides you with the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting research tasks that you wouldn't typically have access to without a scientific background. It provides you with an opportunity to shape future research areas, find the most suitable route to market and engage in regular problem-solving activities. It allows you to take ownership of requirements from start to finish and provides you with a sense of personal satisfaction when you're able to see the impact and importance of your work to future defence.

As part of our Commercial Function you will be responsible for: sourcing, sales, contract management and supplier relations in line with Public Procurement and EU Regulations. You’ll also be responsible for staff management and development with responsibility for tasks and management of workflow within your team whilst contributing to the delivery of commercial services across Dstl. You’ll provide working level support for Divisions, operating as a key practitioner in an area of responsibility along with delegations as required.

Most importantly you will be providing expert advice and guidance to an organisation working at the forefront of innovative Science & Technology.

For these roles you should already be working in a Commercial environment, building on a skillset involving procurement, contract negotiation and supplier management. You should be an effective communicator, who is comfortable working as part of a team.
