Buyer - Construction
Salary £25-£32K DOE
Permanent Full time - 40hrs a week (some flexibility required)

We are looking to recruit an experienced Buyer for a local construction company. Our client works with many prestigious retailers and this role will be fundamental in delivering the businesses day to day procurement needs coupled with an emphasis on merchandising. There will a strong focus on obtaining the best value materials with wise vendor selection and supplier relationship management will be key.

Key responsibilities of the Buyer will be:

- Build & maintain relationships across the Supply Chain
- Source, enquire and purchase from approved suppliers, negotiating to ensure costs remain within budget.
- Validate requests, prepare and raise purchase orders, progress orders and resolve issues.
- Be responsible for resolution of Material Quality issues.
- Maintain Works Orders, Parts Database, receipting of goods and services and Approved Supplier register.
- Ensure current prices are kept up to date and communicated, assisting with Estimating & Sourcing.
- Support Purchasing function with tender preparation
- Project manage on site, coordinating deliveries; ensuring products are recorded and arrive on time
- Provide and support visual Merchandising

In order to be considered for the position of Buyer you will come with at least 3+ years Purchasing & invoicing experience ideally within Construction as well possess the following:

- Good working knowledge of ERP & MRP.
- Have excellent written and spoken communication which is both friendly but professional
- Have advanced IT skills, (especially Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project Desirable)
- Enjoy working as part of a team mentoring staff within the department and motivating people around you in order to meet project deadlines.
- Able to work under pressure, be organised, with good attention to detail and be approachable
- Full clean driving licence
- Accommodate overnight travel and site visits to projects UK wide
- A CIPS Qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
