We’re looking for a real talent to take on the role of Property Operations Manager for a portfolio of smaller properties based in central London including Grosvenor Gardens, 575 Wandsworth Road, Sutton House, Rainham Hall and Eastbury Manor. You’ll be the Manager accountable for all aspects of the commercial and visitor operation, reporting into the General Manager.

As an experienced Manager or Head of Department, you’ll understand how to manage operations and motivate multi disciplinary teams at a busy visitor attraction, business or heritage site. You’ll be an exceptional people manager and commercial mind, bringing your experience, enthusiasm, drive and determination to this exciting role. You'll have high standards for yourself and your teams, enjoying delivering and getting things done.

Please note that the salary includes inner London weighting.

What you'll be doing

As Property Operations Manager, this role requiring you to balance hands on operational delivery with strategic thinking, leading teams to deliver excellent visitor engagement and commercial results.

You’ll manage a multi disciplinary team, and lead for all aspects of the visitor journey from membership and growing support, to Retail, working to upskill the team for commercial delivery and financial management of budgets, as well as other aspects of business development.

Focussing on visitor experience and operational performance, leading your teams to deliver outstanding results. You'll ensure that our visitors and audiences are at the forefront of all that we do and crucially, you’ll know our cause and talk about how we can link our work back to the overall aims of the National Trust.You'll be a key member of the Leadership team and will be required to be a duty manager and work at weekends when needed.

Who we're looking for

In order to maximise the potential in this role, you’ll need to already working in a managerial role with a strong record of delivering excellent results.  You’ll also need to have:

  • Strong budget and financial management experience
  • A commercial focus and business understanding with proven experience of producing results
  • Strong leadership and people management/ development experience with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels
  • Excellent understanding of audience engagement and customer service
  • Drive, enthusiasm and determination
  • Understanding of how to get the best out of people working in multi disciplinary teams
  • Enjoy problem solving and developing solutions with teams.
