Job Description
We're looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our team in Portsmouth. As part of the Commercial department your key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting stock control and administration duties
• Supporting tenders, product enquiries and ad-hoc project work.
• Reporting and statistical analysis / end to end thinking
• Sourcing and negotiating with existing suppliers

• Be outgoing, positive and have excellent communication skills, particularly on the telephone
• Have a can do attitude and be looking to progress within the role
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, in order to be a flexible and supportive member of the team
• Good time management, prioritisation, negotiation & organisational skills
• An ethical approach to business and relationship building
• Be able to understand and effectively follow company process and procedure
• A strong desire to improve the supplier/ customer experience
• Demonstrate strong ability with Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Excel
• Show willingness for continuous improvement within the role and to go the extra mile across the board.

Minimum requirements:
• Buying experience - preferably in the packaging industry
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, good written and verbal communication skills
