I'm currently working with an international multi-modal operator with a strong presence in the UK, Europe and across 5 continents.
Due to their continued growth and success, they now have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join them to develop their ocean freight offering.
Description of Role
General Responsibilities:
To proactively identify, solicit and deliver new Forwarding and Logistics clients.
Specific Responsibilities:
- To generate new client opportunities from prospecting and qualification stages into an active pipeline of opportunities.
- To introduce a relevant range of Sea services to potential clients
- To follow these client opportunities through the entire sales process to successful conclusion
- Work closely with colleagues across the company, especially in relevant Operational and Procurement positions, to look for upselling opportunities.
Technical skills:
- Experience of Ocean Forwarding
- Understanding of landside logistics
- Knowledge of the Global and UK Freight market
- Appreciation of International Supply Chains
- Microsoft Office (advanced level)
