Job Description
- To manage all suppliers, providing key cost savings throughout the business while maintaining the highest possible quality.
- Delegate appropriate tasks and responsibilities, supervise work and allocate projects to the Purchasing Department Team
- Review department performance according to company policy and procedures
- Train team in new procedures, co-ordinate training with Purchasing Director and Human Resources individually to improve the Department's performance
- Support to Purchasing Director in the Departmental Budget creation and effectively engage it to Purchasing Department Team
- Report and track KPIs for reviewing the Department performance and ensure the accomplishment of the Company targets
- Be instrumental in purchase strategies relating to supplier promotions, currency rate changes and new customers for the business
- Identify when visits to suppliers both in the UK and abroad are required and be able to attend, and delegate team members for supplier visits when appropriate
Essential
- Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing or related field
- Competent user of IT including Microsoft Excel Experience of managing a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Results oriented with ability to function in a team environment
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while effectively meeting deadlines
- Team player, enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a 'can-do' attitude
- Enjoy working in a pressurised working environment
- Self motivated and able to keep a positive attitude at all times
- Degree or CIPS Level 5 or Higher
