Buyer - Part qualified or working towards MCIPS

Frank Will’s Recruitment are recruiting for a Buyer, we are looking for a highly ambitious Individual to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation based in the Wirral. This role would be working with highly successful team based across UK.

Our client offers a range of products and services throughout the UK and Internationally. You will be responsible for working autonomously, therefore we are looking for an individual who can take ownership and implement structure to their working day. On an ongoing basis, the successful candidate would be expected to work closely with the operational teams and Procurement Manager. We are looking for a highly driven and motivated individual who can bring experience and expertise to the team and the role.

The Buyer primary responsibilities will be to: work closely with the Senior Buyer and Procurement manager and disposition of materials, support with bids and Tenders, analysis and negotiation for goods and services, maintain procurement software, cost reduction and direct savings internally and externally with suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure material delivery
  • Analyse and monitor parts to ensure coverage to meet production schedule
  • Modify quantity and technical modification of the order continuously
  • Assist in managed stock run-down
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure project are acheieved within SLA's by representing Supply Management at meetings and work autonomously to resolve problems
  • Define purchasing strategy jointly with Operations with regard to on-time-delivery
  • Expedite suppliers to ensure delivery of purchase parts on time
  • Negotiate with suppliers and issue purchase orders or entire frame contract for dedicated projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the procurement manager
  • Administer terms and conditions with suppliers
  • You will ensure parts availability through the supply chain while maintaining overall cost (and inventory, depending on allocation) at the lowest level and highest quality.
  • You will maintain daily contact with suppliers while building strong relationships; Participate in initial project phase or in buying completely new material and evaluating risks;
  • Ensure service contracts are correctly monitored against KPI's and managed in conjunction with the responsible facility head
  • Ensure the day to day procurement process runs efficiently & collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.

Essential

  • Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Part qualified or working towards, MCIPS.
  • Experience of asset management or enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Excellent Time Management
  • Excellent IT skills; Using Microsoft packages as well as working with IT based material management systems for controlling stock and projects
