Our clients aspires to become the largest privately owned freight forwarder in the UK and are currently looking for an Import/Export Operator to join their expanding team at their head office near Basildon. They provide tailor made logistics solutions for their customers Worldwide and work within a variety of commodities to include the Retail, Fashion and Automotive sectors incorporating full door to door ecommerce solutions.

You will need to have good solid experience of freight forwarding within exports and will be dealing with all modes of transport Air, Road and Sea freight as well as Import Air and Road freight so ideally experience of some Import freight would be an advantage but a good all round knowledge of the industry is vital.

You will be dealing with Worldwide general freight and you will manage the Export/Import process from start to finish and duties will include:

• Quoting customers whilst maximising profits
• Liaising between customers, suppliers and transport companies to ensure an efficient operational service is provided.
• Deal with all export documentation and ensure correct documentation is on file as set out in the instructions.
• Ensure all documents are received within the designated time frame
• Send pre-alerts to overseas agents
• Liaise between Suppliers and overseas agents to obtain up to date shipment information
• Keep customers informed of the progress of their shipment and deal with any problems that may arise whilst providing excellent customer service at all times.
• Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer requirements with regards to delivery or collections are met.
• Deal with any invoice or rate queries.
