Afternoon Shift Warehouse Manager

Are you a competent Warehouse Manager or supervisor? Are you experienced with cross dock operations, pallet network and 3PL and would be able to hit the ground running?

Due to an increase in activity through their distribution site, an exciting opportunity has arisen with our client for an afternoon Warehouse Shift Manager to oversee their afternoon cross dock warehouse operation.

The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for all afternoon cross-dock activities and operations. By being a strong, motivational leader, you will be committed to developing a high performing team who are dedicated to the efficient and smooth running of all warehouse and transport operations.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of cross-dock operations, pallet network or 3PL
  • Previous experience of working in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Previous manager/supervisor experience with excellent leadership, staff management, communication and motivational skills
  • The ability to take ownership, make decisions, problem solve and to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisation and prioritising skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable and accept change for the good of the business
  • Competent user of Office 365 Package and RoadRunner Transport Management System
  • Counterbalance and PPT licences essential
  • Vast Health & Safety knowledge

Key Responsibilities to include but not limited to

  • Manage and oversee all afternoon shift warehouse activity for an effective cross-dock operation
  • Responsible for organising and scheduling all cross-dock activity working will all departments
  • Manage all administrative personnel associated with the cross-dock
  • To ensure that all procedures and safety practices are carried out correctly
  • To ensure that the warehouse is kept clean, secure and operational at all times
  • Maximise company profitability through cost-effective cross-dock management
  • Hiring and training of staff and to manage all aspects of performance and development
  • Review all afternoon deliveries, prepare stock and load the vehicles
  • To identify root causes or accidents and incidents, report trends and take a proactive approach on how to prevent them in the future
  • Lead, develop and motivate the team to consistently deliver outstanding results and achieve objectives

Location: Crick

Hours: Monday-Friday 13.45-21.45 (40 hours per week, overtime may be required)

Salary: Up to £28,00 (depending on experience) with company benefits
