Cross Dock Warehouse Manager

A hugely successful leading supply chain and distribution business has an immediate opening for a professional Warehouse Manager experienced in Cross Dock operations to manage the afternoon shift operation in Crick, Northamptonshire on a full time permanent basis, working Mon to Fri from 1.45pm to 9.45pm

You will report directly into the Operations Manager and have developed your career within a 3PL warehouse, cross dock or pallet network environment previously. You will possess excellent man-management/supervisory skills as this role requires a strong leader to engage, support, motivate, train and develop the team leaders and warehouse personnel. This will include appraisals, one to one, and any disciplinary where required. As this position requires you to take ownership of the afternoon, you will thrive on the opportunity to look at the site critically, and introduce systems and procedures and new ways of working that you feel will create the most efficient operation possible. In essence, you will look at ways to increase productivity, introduce change and manage stringent KPI targets and SLA agreements, not only to achieve but to exceed expectations. You will be naturally competitive, and always have a key focus on the end goal of over exceeding on business objectives to allow sustained performance growth. In essence this is an opportunity to start with a blank sheet, and make the afternoon cross dock operation your own, using your skills to get back to basics and build a very robust, cost-effective operation.

This is a high pressure, fast moving operation and would suit an ambitious, forward thinking and dynamic individual who has a real focus on the customer. As a natural leader, you will possess excellent communication skills and have a positive, can-do attitude with continuous Improvement coming naturally to you. It would be of benefit if you have experience of WMS, and possess sound IT skills. Forklift and PPT licences would be a bonus.
