A Multinational Building Materials Corporation seeks an Associate Category Manager to take charge of their Indirect Procurement strategies. This is a fresh role since the company are internalising their Procurement function, and you will be managing a $150m spend across the Indirect categories such as CapEx, MRO, Plant Maintenance, and Business Services.

In a team of 3, and reporting to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be developing and executing your sourcing strategies with vendors and managing your regional plants. There will be the opportunity to travel abroad and work with the teams' worldwide, giving you that international exposure and improving your global network.

With their Headquarters based out of Norfolk, Virginia, the Heavy Materials Organisation operate in over 10 countries and are renowned for providing programmes for leadership and career development. As an Associate Category Manager for CapEx and MRO you will be:

  • Evaluating and developing sourcing strategies
  • Analyzing and implementing cost savings plans
  • Managing relationships with existing vendors, stakeholders and internal Procurement teams
  • Negotiating prices and contracts with new suppliers
  • Working with other departments in driving the global growth plans
  • Actively supporting training and safety initiatives
  • Enhancing the development of e-procurement catalog content and utilization

The requirements for an Associate Category Manager for CapEx and MRO:

  • Aroven track record within Procurement, particularly in Manufacturing and Materials
  • Previous experience with indirect categories such as Facilities, CAPEX, MRO and Business Services
  • Proficient with SAP and Oracle, and knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Bachelor's Degree within Supply Chain, Business Administration or any other relevant discipline
  • Up to 25% of travel

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing Procurement team. You will be directly responsible for developing the strategy and direction of various indirect categories in order to ensure maximum performance, profitability and success of the Procurement department.
