Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading production and distribution business in Leeds for a newly created position as an Import / Export Coordinator.
The position is responsible for co-ordinating importation and exportation for customs clearance of all materials and goods.
The ideal candidate will have a background working within either an importing/exporting, transport office or freight forwarding background(s). You will also have the ability to work to tight deadlines, work to a high level of accuracy and have a proactive attitude to their work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data entry into the systems/spreadsheets
* Reviewing and processing documentation in a highly accurate manner
* Being able to spot discrepancies and report them to the relevant departments to minimise any delays to stock delivery into distribution centres
* Continuous updating of databases and spreadsheets to ensure a clear audit trail is accessible should it be required
* Ability to assess situations and implement a solution to ensure a suitable outcome
* Liaising with internal and external sites and departments across the country
* Preparation of exportation documentation for all exports and shipments
* Ensure correct documentation and importation process is followed
* Ensure correct declarations are made and process is followed, including correct customs and duty declarations are filled and paid
Required Skills:
* Good knowledge of Numeracy & Numerical data input
* Computer Literate with knowledge of Microsoft office programmes
* Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye to spot discrepancies
* Good communication skills both on a written and verbal level
* Being able to work within a quick pace & high-pressure environment
* Knowledge of importing & exporting goods would be highly desirable
* Knowledge of tariff coding and cloth composition would be advantageous
* The ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic, positive and upbeat attitude to work and the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
This is a permanent position £22,000 - £28,000 dependable on experience.
