Beer Buyer – Beer, Cider and Craft beers

£50k + Pension and Benefits

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Beer Buyer within the UK’s fastest growing pub and bar business to develop the beer, cider and craft categories.

You’ll be responsible for developing the beer and cider ranges across various trading formats combined with planning activation programmes with the Marketing teams. Working closely with key internal client and external stakeholders to ensure procurement activities are optimised and delivered in a professional, safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop supplier strategies and build market leading trading relationships
  • Develop category plans that will deliver both consumer and commercial benefits
  • Create exciting consumer engaging NPD programmes that grow excitement and premiumisation wherever possible
  • Establish reliable communication lines with our Operations teams to ensure aligned ranging decisions
  • Manage the logistics partners to ensure market leading KPI’s are achieved within our business.
  • Independently managing the end to end delivery of Beer procurement projects.
  • To provide in-depth knowledge of Procurement process (legal requirements, strategy creation, supplier market engagement activities and the competitive tender process management
  • Develop effective criteria and evaluation methodologies which deliver against internal objectives
  • To constructively challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure procurement strategy aligns with their intended outcomes as well as best practice and competitive pricing and all compliance measures
  • Delivering procurement updates and best practise for Operations briefing events and training workshops 
  • Ability to travel nationally is necessary to deliver in this role, although will be kept to a minimum where possible.

You’ll be a procurement profession probably with a CIPS qualification, with experience of scoping requirements, through contract drafting, negotiation and service mobilisation preparation.   Additionally, you’ll have good experience of category management techniques and an good knowledge of beer procurement.   To be successful in the role you will be an exceptional relationship builder, organised project manager with a proven record of dealing with a range of complex procurement projects.
