An ambitious Warehouse Operations Manager is required to support the continued growth of the business for a leading Ecommerce retailer of books and resources, based in Chester.

The successful Warehouse Operations Manager will efficiently and effectively lead the warehouse operation by driving productivity, efficiency and championing continuous improvement ensuring that processes meet both company and customer expectations with an overarching focus on improving operational excellence in a safe working environment.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer the successful candidate will be responsible for managing people, processes, and systems ensuring goods are received and dispatched within pre-agreed SLA's meeting customer's expectations whilst achieving performance goals supporting the wider business.

You'll also lead change across the warehouse operation through the development of people and processes in conjunction with the company strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring that all warehousing operations meet the necessary health and safety requirements, complying with current legislation to maintain a safe working environment for employees.
Working closely with teams across the business to ensure trading peaks are managed and any threats are addressed in a timely fashion.
Developing and communicating the warehouse's operational objectives, incorporating them into strategic plans and reviews through information and recommendations.
Develop and support systems improvements through the promotion of discipline and standardisation by monitoring workflow, demand for manpower and utilisation of space and layout of stock and equipment.
Supervising the day to day running of all on site operations.
Assist the business in developing a culture that embraces LEAN initiatives. Drive a culture of empowerment with excellent visual management, effective update meetings and KPI reporting.
Development of Continuous Improvement processes to promote lower cost of sales and reduced stock levels.
Effective line management and leadership to motivate and inspire great performance from all direct reports.
Managing and influencing people at all levels of the Company.

Be degree qualified, hold an equivalent qualification or be qualified by experience.
Have at least 2 years of operations management experience.
Hold a NEBOSH diploma.
Have excellent people skills and be passionate about achieving results through your people.
Be a strong leader, able to inspire others and build an engaged and motivated team.
Solid knowledge of LEAN principles.
Continuous Improvement experience, ideally holding a Yellow belt.
Hold business to business experience.
Knowledge of employment law.
Hold strong leadership skills and be able to demonstrate past experience in developing, coaching and leading teams through change (direct and indirect reports).
Strong PC skills.
Full UK driving licence.
