As the Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager this is a perfect time to join this fast growing wholesaler of consumer goods, who distribute across the UK and worldwide. This role could suit an ambitious buyer or senior buyer looking to make the step up, the role is a Manager job title, however there will be more "doing" than "strategising".

Purpose of the role

·Supporting the expansion of the business by developing and owning the purchasing strategy
·Building strong and lasting relationships with global suppliers
·Sourcing and purchasing products in a cost-effective and efficient manner
·Introducing new products into the product portfolio to support the business's aggressive growth plans

Responsibilities:
·Create, develop, own and action the purchasing strategy in line with the business objectives
·Conduct supplier research to ensure that key suppliers are identified for each product in terms of cost, quality & delivery
·Build mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers in line with the purchasing strategy
·Analyse sales and purchasing data to build commercial insight to support the purchasing strategy and the overall business objectives
·Proactively manage and analyse incoming competitor and supplier pricing to ensure that opportunities for focused purchasing and selling are maximised
·Monitor and respond to customer product requests to ensure that the business can supply the products our customers are asking for
·Negotiate competitive, effective and efficient supply of the business's product portfolio.
·Communicate on a regular basis to suppliers with specific reference to product requirements and forecasts and ensure that pricing remains competitive and supportive of the business objectives

Skills and experience:
·International and or EU experience
·Adaptable and effective communication style depending on your audience
·The use of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and Sage 50
·Able to create process flows and new ways of working
·Budget management
·Happy working in a small business

The ideal person will be innovative, full of ideas and be capable of assisting with the growth of the business whilst also working hands on getting stuck in too!
