An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join a large pharmaceutical distribution company based in Leighton Buzzard. This is a full time vacancy and is paying between £28,000 -£35,000 p/a.

Hours: Standard office hours between Monday and Friday (37.5 hours a week)

As the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the organisation and monitoring of logistics, storage and distribution.

Responsibilities:
-Plan and manage the logistics function, including inbound and outbound transportation, both locally and internationally, including air, ground and ocean freight.
-Manage, direct and optimise the full order cycle while maintaining a transparent system of order progression from shipment to arrival.
-Negotiate logistics contracts where appropriate
-Meet cost reduction, accuracy and timeline targets.
-Put in place action plans to resolve all non-conformance
-Analyse data to monitor and manage all third party logistics
-Maximise and improve third party logistics in terms of relationship and performance
-Manage the monthly review process
-Negotiate contracts where appropriate
-In conjunction with the Purchasing Manager, arrange cycle counts with the warehouses and record results, reporting shortages and overages, making recommendations for storage and handling as appropriate, fixing discrepancies by taking ownership of the appropriate action plan.
-Manage warehouses to ensure conformity, efficiency and optimal service levels while maintaining minimal cost and expenses.
-Prepare and send relevant certificated products to be tested at required intervals, ensuring certifications remain valid and active according to British, European or trade association standards.

Experience/Qualifications:
-Diploma/certificate in Logistics and Warehousing
-Knowledge of standard logistics and/or warehousing software
-Warehousing, distribution and logistics management experience is essential
-Experience in strategic planning
-Managing and leading others
-Inventory/purchasing management experience
-Previous Administration experience
