Job Summary

As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the best value procurement solutions at least cost to the business whilst working to agreed financial targets in line with the procurement strategy and plan.

You will be responsible for all procurement and scheduling of the company’s orders from forecast to implementing best practice in order to develop an effective and sustainable international purchasing function.

This role is a minimum 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all orders are created in line with the current business levels of the company
  • Managing ongoing relationships with all suppliers
  • Sourcing new and innovative suppliers
  • Negotiate and manage accounts with suppliers in line with the company’s purchasing policy
  • Manage delivery times so that they coincide with the needs of the company
  • Reduce costs without compromising service and quality levels
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks in conjunction with the demands of the business
  • Planning stock ranges suppliers, negotiating pricing on all stock
  • Effectively managing the challenges with buying from overseas, ethical sourcing, quality control, duties and taxes and logistics.
  • Managing reverse logistic, negotiating of SLA and best sales prices
  • Managing total inventory availability across business
  • Managing ongoing relationships with all suppliers in collaboration with the commercial department
  • Ensuring the both best prices, but more importantly quality standard meets business needs
  • Providing technical support regarding product specification
  • Updating senior management latest market trend and new technology

Other responsibilities

  • Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the purchasing contributes to these
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a monthly basis
  • Driving gross profit margin through buying, selection, negotiation
  • Visiting and auditing current and new suppliers as required
  • Undertake procurement related projects on and ad-hoc basis as required

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Mandarin and English language skills desirable but not necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - especially Excel
  • 5 years of Supply Chain/Warehouse Management/Stock purchasing experience
  • Ideally 3-5 Stock purchasing experience
  • Full appreciation and understanding of the end to end supply chain to ensure suppliers meet requirements. Commercially aware with business acumen and the ability to achieve cost benefits
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, excellent documentation and oral communication skills
  • Results focused
  • Highly numerical
  • Previous experience in the mobile industry, or buying electronics components
