Purchasing Manager required for a well-established manufacturer of sheet metal fabricated parts and components in Blackburn. The successful candidate will be involved in Efficient and cost savvy procurement of raw materials, goods, and services for production and the company. Proactive problem solving and identification of improvements required.
Purchasing Manager Position Overview
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions for materials, goods, and supplies.
- Release to suppliers and obtain verification of prices and dates.
- Review applicable inventories and order as required.
- Track and chase delivery of purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Deal with any issues arising from non-supplied, late supplied, under orders, over orders, and damaged goods.
- Assist Estimating team in acquiring and sourcing prices and products
- Conduct a full supplier review and cost assessment.
- Proactively search and source potential new suppliers.
- Resolve any pricing discrepancies invoiced.
- Report savings and improvements made on a monthly basis.
- Implement working stock control system within current ERP system.
- Train employees with skills required to achieve purchasing and stock control targets.
- Liaise with production to ensure fluid workflow between departments
- Export approved purchase invoices from MIE to Sage and check balances.
- File and scan purchase invoices to archive files.
- This is not an exhaustive list and other small tasks will be requested by your Managers.
Purchasing Manager Position Requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.
- Strong purchasing background (preferably with purchasing related qualifications)
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
- Advantageous: Previous experience of within a technical environment.
Purchasing Manager Position Remuneration
- Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 17:00, Friday 8:00 - 14:00.
- Holidays 20 Days plus Bank Holidays.
- Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme. 6% matched.
- Private Medical Insurance.
- Salary: £27,000-£42,000
