THE COMPANY
A fast-paced, high-volume production based company based in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to appoint a Buyer to work alongside their Planning team, where there is a specialist focus on print. As a result, you must carry print experience and be able to work in an environment with strict deadlines. This is a chance to join a leading manufacturing company who continue to be recognised as a leader in their industry.
THE ROLE
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the day to day procurement of outwork across the business for a range of print projects and campaigns. You will work closely with the Planning Team and Operations Manager on a daily basis and will be a key point of contact across the business.
Your key duties will include:
- Procuring any kind of outwork specific to print projects and campaigns
- Purchasing material resources
- Sourcing fittings when required
- Building relationships with suppliers and assessing new suppliers
- Continually seeking competitive prices and service
- Negotiating with suppliers in regards to pricing and deadlines
THE EXPERIENCE
To be considered for the Buyer position, you must hold the following skills and experience, all with a background in print:
- Recent experience working as a Buyer within the Print industry
- Knowledge and understanding of lithoprint (you must understand sheet sizes and materials)
- Excellent IT skills, including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Fantastic communication and organisation skills
It will also be advantageous if you:
- Have experience of MIS (Management Information Systems)
- Are CIPS qualified
THE SALARY
You will receive a starting salary of around £25,000, dependent on experience.
THE CONTRACT
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work from 9.00am until 5.00pm from Monday - Friday.
You will initially receive 20 days' holiday (+ bank holidays), rising with length of service. There is also parking onsite.
