We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Transport & Logistics sector. We have an excellent opportunity for an Office Manager / Logistics Controller to join our client in Reading to provide a high level of support to the control and operations of the Reading office.
Office Manager / Logistics Controller’s Core Duties
- Allocation of work to couriers in a fair and transparent manner
- Taking bookings accurately and advising clients of their services
- Monitoring of jobs through to POD and completion
- Implementing and maintaining Service Level Agreements
- Proactively keeping clients and fellow employees informed of any delays or issues
- Ensure your fleet size if sufficient to service your clients particularly during peak periods - maintain levels and recruit when required
Office Manager / Logistics Controller’s Skills required
- Managing and exceeding customer expectations
- Acting on your own initiative without supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, couriers and suppliers and remain professional at all times
- Computer literate
Key Experience
- Previous transport industry experience
- Experience working for a same day courier would be advantageous
- Good geographical knowledge
