We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Transport & Logistics sector. We have an excellent opportunity for an Office Manager / Logistics Controller to join our client in Reading to provide a high level of support to the control and operations of the Reading office.

Office Manager / Logistics Controller’s Core Duties

  • Allocation of work to couriers in a fair and transparent manner
  • Taking bookings accurately and advising clients of their services
  • Monitoring of jobs through to POD and completion
  • Implementing and maintaining Service Level Agreements
  • Proactively keeping clients and fellow employees informed of any delays or issues
  • Ensure your fleet size if sufficient to service your clients particularly during peak periods - maintain levels and recruit when required

Office Manager / Logistics Controller’s Skills required

  • Managing and exceeding customer expectations
  • Acting on your own initiative without supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients, couriers and suppliers and remain professional at all times
  • Computer literate

Key Experience

  • Previous transport industry experience
  • Experience working for a same day courier would be advantageous
  • Good geographical knowledge
