Our client a market leader in there sector, are currently recruiting for an Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist based in Felixstowe. They are looking for an individual with a strong knowledge of Export/Import Ocean Freight to join their fun team, and will also gain excellent communication skills.
Key Activities:
- Respond to requests for quotations received from internal and external customers.
- Liaise with relevant operation and product departments to ensure competitive pricing.
- Provide a prompt response to the customer and follow up every quotation.
- Recording all quotation details and the customer response.
- Assessing the pricing that will win the business.
- Working with operations to ensure a SOP and suitable handover takes place when new order business is secured.
- Negotiation with customers.
- Developing positive relationships with customers through great service.
- Suggest tactics on pricing so that sales and margin are maximised.
Specific Technical Requirements:
- Good commercial understanding of ocean tariffs.
- Strong product knowledge with financial awareness of credit ratings and policies.
- Excellent communication skills both Oral and Written.
- Excellent Customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and be flexible.
- Good PC skills. Use of Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Attention to detail is paramount.
