A FTSE 250 telecommunications company is looking to hire a Financial Operations Operational Excellence Manager to lead the creation and embedding an operational excellence and continuous improvement culture which is customer first focussed and 'easy to do business with' within a Global Financial Operations (Fin Ops) Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Process Excellence Team to co-ordinate the embedding of the process excellence model across Fin Ops, agreeing a delivery plan to achieve Quality Management System (QMS) signoff
- Supports the Procure to Pay (P2P), Director with the development of plans to implement a continuous improvement (CI), culture across all Fin Ops value streams
- Act as the deployment lead for CI initiatives across all Fin Ops value streams
- Review, design and capture in Blue Works, end to end process flows for all key processes across all value streams within Fin Ops
- Supporting the Director and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), with the control, tracking and reporting of system change requests across the Finance Function
- Working with the members of the SLT, responsible for the coordination and management of the function's long range business plans
- Acts as the financial systems interface between OneIT and Group Finance ensuring all change requests are adequately documented, delivered and trained out, including updating of relevant training materials
- Has oversight for and provides a quality control review of all material Fin Ops projects to ensure the full end to end process and controls have been considered and documented, across Fin Ops
- Identify opportunities & assist with the implementation of robotic process automation (RPA) across the function
- This role has leadership responsibility of at least 1 x team member
- Owns the financial control framework and takes a leading role in ensuring best practice processes and controls are being followed consistently on a global basis in a SAP based ERP environment. This includes, but is not limited to, working with internal stakeholders to implement process improvements
- Coaching and supporting Fin Ops team members through their lean journey including root cause analysis and problem solving and mentoring yellow belt through to accreditation
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven process and operational excellence skills, including Lean Green Belt / Six Sigma, other process & continuous improvement methodology
- Project and programme management skills gained in a globally diverse financial operations environment
- Solid appreciation & understanding of best practice financial processes and controls, accounting standards, and ERP systems
- Experienced matrix and people manager
- Strong people skills, confident and comfortable at engaging collaboratively at all levels of a multinational business environment
- Strong analytical and decision making skills alongside verbal and written communication
- Experience working with SAP
- Extensive Microsoft experience with particular emphasis on Excel; PowerPoint and Word
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in the Telco industry preferred but not essential
- Qualified Accountant/Relevant Degree
- Prince2 qualification
