Logistics Team Leader

Salary/Rate: £21000 - £25000/annum Negotiable

Location: ST14, Bramshall, Staffordshire

Hours of work: Mon- Fri: 7.30am - 4.30pm

This is initially a 6 month temporary role, the role will be made permanent as soon as base expectations and core values are demonstrated.

The Company

A highly successful customer focused family business employing around 100 employees and we have over 35 year's experience supplying quality industrial finishes to UK industry. This extensive manufacturing site includes an electro-coating facility, box ovens, paint spray booths all supported by a quality and technical department. Our work is used in a wide range of applications from heavy earth moving equipment to small batches in the automotive sector. The past 5 years has seen a programme of significant investment in processes, equipment and technology all of which has resulted in new products and services and a growth in sales to new and existing customers and the development of new market opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking proactive team leaders : You need a proactive,can do attitude to join the team and help drive the company forward.

You will be from either a fast-paced logistics or production background.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an agile and progressive business where you’ll be able to use your 2-3 years generalist experience and personal initiative to great effect.

Reporting to the Group Leader, you'll be responsible for managing your department and all direct staff. To ensure the smooth running of the production process you will ensure that all products are produced to the correct specifications and within deadlines to achieve the customer requirements.

The Role

As Team Leader you’ll be focusing on the following key priorities; Completing daily standard tasks to a routine which is designed to reduce reactive work and maintain a disciplined approach to area management.

Leader: Its essential you are confident motivating a team and inspiring others to do well and focus on achieving consistent performances.

5S approach to area management - keeping your area organised and under control is essential to the success of your operational area.

Quality of Product - Adherence to Quality Assurance (QA) processes and implement continual improvement activities to reduce the level of internal errors.

  • Co-ordinate all preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties with your team, reporting any faulty equipment promptly so that any issues can be escalated accordingly.

The Person

To be successful you’ll ideally have demonstrable experience in a similar production/logistics environment. You must be able to work using your own initiative as an integral member of a team and have strong organisational, planning, delegation and supervisory skills.
