Our clients firm is searching for an experienced Buyer who will be able to process purchasing requisitions from the managers in the field and turn those requisitions into purchase orders. The Buyer will be responsible for creating purchase order tracking systems, alerting management when orders have been filled and invoices from vendors have been issued, answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and an strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier & Product Sourcing
  • Ensuring Agreed Deliver times are adhered to, one face to the supplier approach and supplier costs & reporting
  • Logistical organisation of materials & components throughout the manufacturing process
  • Audit of suppliers & sub-contractors
  • Devise & manage supplier strategy for designed commodities
  • Negotiation of supply contract & purchase order terms and conditions
  • Placement of purchase orders, progressing orders places and ensuring that individual quality plans are maintained
  • Resolution of non-conformance, commercial & delivery issues with suppliers & sub-contractors, internal or external

Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
  • Ideally you will have CIPS level 4 or working towards your qualification

Thus us a full time role with a salary of up to £27,000 dependent on experience. We would also be interested in hearing from Junior Buyers/Buying Assistants who are looking for progression.
