SF Recruitment are currently working with a specialist manufacturing business to recruit a Plant Operations Manager.
This is a replacement role which has been recognised as an opportunity to find an influential leader who will transform manufacturing operations, in order to drive the business forward and capitalise on recent investments to meet future challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the UK General Manager in a multi-site manufacturing operation, you will hold P&L responsibility for a specialist manufacturing site, with a variety of technical manufacturing processes.
- Develop a strategic plan to enhance productivity through implementing modernised manufacturing techniques such as process flows, lean improvements and operational KPIs to drive forward manufacturing capability..
- Demonstrating P&L status by producing monthly reports to provide visibility of performance against strategy.
- Managing annual budgets to monitor and analyse costs.
- Plan and direct site-wide manufacturing activities including supply of raw material, production methods, man-power, equipment, quality and delivery of whole goods.
- Evaluate plant layout changes to enhance material flow and promote lean manufacturing.
- Spearhead and/or delegate improvement projects to modify and implement brand new machinery and process within the facility.
- Provide managerial support across key business areas, including Production, Quality, Purchasing and Health & Safety.
Experience required:
- Demonstrable ability to manage full P&L for a large manufacturing plant.
- Extremely strong lean manufacturing experience, with evidence of spearheading significant lean operational improvements within a manufacturing facility.
- Sound knowledge of MRP systems and demand planning.
- Solid understanding of Production Management, Quality, Health & Safety and Purchasing activities.
- Excellent leadership skills, complimented by a strategic focus to improve manufacturing environments.
Package:
- Basic salary of up to £75,000 p.a.
