This specialist engineering group are currently going through a period of transformation and growth, which has resulted in the need to recruit a strategic buyer to join their purchasing team.

To support business growth, the role of the Strategic Buyer is to ensure that supplier capability is maximised in order to reduce cost, improve service delivery and quality of product.

Responsibilities and Duties

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop key supplier relationships.
  • Identify new suppliers within the marketplace.
  • Manage supply chain risk.
  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Maximise cost potential
  • Be the point of escalation for supplier related issues

Qualifications and Skills

The successful strategic buyer will: -

  • Have purchasing experience ideally within the engineering / manufacturing sectors.
  • Ideally be CIPS qualified or working towards.
  • Ideally have worked with ERP systems.
  • Be looking for an opportunity for career development
