Motivated Junior Buyer - Premium Homeware, London, £27k - £30k (dependant on experience), Immediate Start!

My client is a well-known, national gifting retailer who are looking to recruit an experienced and passionate Junior Buyer to join their London Head Office. Our client offers various luxury / premium product ranges, so this is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate with a true passion and background in this sector.

Due to their constant growth, they are actively seeking a new candidate to join them and become a part of their Buying Team.

As a Junior Buyer you will be responsible for sourcing and presenting new brands, while discovering growth opportunities within the company's fundamental brands; developing and maintaining positive relationships with existing brands and responding to trend and market changes.

Your responsibilities as a Junior Buyer would be:

• Sourcing new brands and presenting them to the Head of Buying
• Maintain existing brands, renegotiating to refresh, and broaden the company offering
• Developing and deliver products ranges to margin expectations through cost negotiations and effective supply solutions
• Proactive in seeking new business opportunities to grow sales
• Dealing with problem suppliers and assist in a solutions focused way to benefit the business
• Proactively react to market changes and customer demand
• Negotiating contracts and building and maintaining effective working relationships
• Manager Supply Chain and maximise ROI
• Reviewing supplier performance and reflecting to impact future supplier strategies - Managing own category and sample management for showrooms - Evaluate Market, Sales, Customer Analysis and Trend to shape a development strategy - Carry out competitor shops and responding to market changes and competition - Ownership and management of the critical path for brand delivery and new seasonal ranges - Regular reporting on product performance (best and worst)
  
  In order to be considered for these positions, it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following:
  
• Current working experience within Buying and Product selection in luxury / premium Homewares - Career driven and motivation to learn, with a keen interest in homewares trends - Strong understand of the life-cycle of a product in a seasonal and trend reactive company
• Knowledge of product development and sourcing
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to negotiate well
• Ability to deliver, and exceed margin, profit and growth targets
• Excellent IT skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
• High organisation skills and strong attention to detail
• Be proactive and reactive to assist in assuring that our offering is unique to our competitors
• Friendly, Approachable and a Team player
