Purchasing and Stores Manager

  • Basic salary £28,000 - £30,000
  • Training and progression

Location: To be commutable you could live in or near Cambridge, Duxford, St Neots, Ely, Huntingdon, Bedford, Biggleswade, Sandy, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Royston etc.

Purchasing and Stores Manager Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal parties to project upcoming material requirements
  • Negotiate and compare products, lead times, prices and payment terms with existing suppliers
  • Source and negotiate with new suppliers to reduce annual spend
  • Order materials as required for minimum stock levels and usage depending on company activity
  • Quality check goods in, raising any found quality issues and updating the system
  • Issue stock to production, record usage and carry out stock takes

Candidate Requirements

  • Purchasing experience in any field, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Willing to gain a fork lift truck licence if you don’t already have one, this will of course be paid for by the company for using a fork lift truck in the position
  • Experience in a similar position: Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain etc.
  • Strong organisational skills and diligence
  • Positive, hardworking and enthusiastic personality
