Operations Manager required for a leading manufacturer located in Portsmouth who have a £14M t/o and are part of a wider Group with a t/o in excess of £200M.

Your new role of Operations Manager will deliver a continuous improvement approach to the business reviewing both what works well and what doesn't work well to improve efficiency company wide.  The MD is looking for an Operations Manager who does not have a mind-set of 'if it's not broke then don't fix it'.  Instead he is looking for a proactive individual who will leave no stone unturned to improve the way the company works.

The Operations Manager will also be involved in managing staff to ensure the continuous availability of materials to the manufacturing teams and also of products through 3rd party suppliers.  There is also the management of the warehouse and overall logistics operations.

With a modern working environment and an advanced onsite manufacturing capability, you will use the MRP system to manage raw material and component forecasting and purchasing, accounting for respective lead times.

You will also participate in S&OP meetings to understand forecasted sales that will allow teams to place unders with your 3rd party providers in due time that ensures OTIF deliveries.
