Job Title: Air/Sea Freight Business Development Manager
Location: Leyland, Lancashire
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am -5:30pm.
Salary: Competitive basic 30,000 pa + uncapped commission
Are you looking to step up in your career? Have you been waiting for the right opportunity? Brook Street is recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager for a family run freight business based in Leyland, Lancashire. My client is looking to expand their service offering to include worldwide air, sea and road services, this ideal candidate will be responsible to grow their client based for these new services.
Key responsibilities:
-You will be office based work with opportunities for UK and EU business trips.
-You will manage your own diary and develop your own portfolio of opportunities.
-Achieve new business sales targets by developing relationships with new (and lapsed) customers
-Generate own leads and opportunities and follow up on any leads and referrals resulting from Company Operations activity
-Own the sales process from lead generation to closing the sale
-Arrange own meetings and prospect for new business
-Negotiate sale (price, costs, delivery and specifications) with buyers and close the sale
-Effectively interact with the Operations team
-Company's products, services and pricing structures
-Maintain sales pipeline using CRM software
-Maintain a monthly personal sales activity plan
-Keep open communication with management and attend regular head office sales meetings
The Business Development Manager Requirements:
-MUST have Freight sales experience. Air & Sea sales experience a distinct advantage.
-Preferable Previous experience in a sales or key account management role at a freight forwarder
-Skilled at Freight quotations and rate negotiations
-An excellent communicator both written and verbally
-Familiar with CargoWise management system is advantage
