This FTSE 100 Food & Beverage Major is seeking a Procurement Director to head up the glass packaging category, moving the organization into a new strategic direction, to be based out of their primary location in Chicago, Illinois. The organization, with more than 25,000 employees across the globe, is a FTSE 100 Packaging Major with a number of Global Projects across the US, Europe and Middle-East.

You will report into the Senior Procurement Director and have a close working relationship with other Senior Stakeholders (including the Global Procurement Director for Packaging). You will be a driving factor in the creation and implementation of leading Procurement strategies across the Glass category.

Role

You will be based out of one of the organizations primary sites in Chicago, IL, working for an established FTSE 100 Food & Beverage Major. You will report to the Senior Procurement Director and be expected to create and drive the procurement strategy across your assigned glass category.

As the Procurement Director, you will:

• Work alongside key stakeholders (including the Senior Procurement Director) to develop and drive new strategies across the business
• Develop and foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and ensure that current strategies are deriving maximum value
• Support teams across multiple sites to drive key strategic processes
• Create and drive multiple procurement strategies to ensure that the cost reduction targets are met through cost saving and cost avoidance across the business

Key Skills Sought

• Key experience across packaging procurement (glass packaging is preferred but not essential)
• Has experience within the food or packaging industry is preferred but not essential
• Experienced in creating and implementing key procurement strategies to drive change across your categories
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the business
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (business, accounting, economics, etc.). A follow-on degree is preferred but not a requirement
