Summary

We are currently looking for two Property Operations Managers to lead our visitor operations at Surrey Hills. The roles will have responsibility for the leadership and performance of one of two locations based at either Box Hill (near Dorking) or Hindhead (near Haslemere).

In these exciting roles, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality visitor experience at our stunning countryside sites which include either Box Hill, Reigate Hill, and Headley Heath or The Devils Punchbowl, Frensham Little Pond, Witley Common and our holiday cottage at Hindhead. Box Hill welcomes over 1 million visitors and the Hindhead sites around 800K visitors each year. We want to make a difference for nature through engaging with our visitors to enjoy and support these beautiful places for the future.

We are offering a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with an impressive benefits package alongside.

Surrey Hills is a diverse portfolio of properties in the heart of the Surrey Countryside. Situated just 15 miles from London, Box Hill is a famed beauty spot remembered as the location for London Olympics road race. Box Hill has a thriving café, a shop and an information point where National Trust memberships are sold.

There’s also Hindhead Commons and the Devil’s Punch Bowl, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You won’t have to go far from our café and welcome spaces to admire the views and stunning scenery surrounding this area, visitors step into a colourful mosaic of purple, greens and gold, it’s quiet apart from the sounds of nature.

What you'll be doing

You will drive excellent commercial performance being responsible for catering, retail, carparks, membership recruitment, events, holidays and visitor engagement at your sites. You are an inspiring leader who loves working with people and has a passion for the highest standards of customer service. You are a team player who engages with your stakeholders and is able to bring people together to work for a common purpose. A keen operator, your well honed commercial skills will allow you to optimise all opportunities and to implement plans to optimise commercial return and support for the future. You are motivated by making a difference to nature for the future and will deliver events programmes at your sites to further engage our visitors and supporters.

Who we're looking for

You will be able to demonstrate the following, but not limited to:

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to optimise commercial opportunities as they arise.

  • Manage a commercial budget effectively.

  • Strong budget and financial management experience

  • Understanding of how to get the best out of people working in a geographically spread area

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and engage with people at all levels

  • Excellent coaching skills, and a strong focus on people development
