Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager

This company is a leading developer, manufacturer and master distributor of accessories worldwide, supplying a variety of distributor and retail accounts. The business is a privately-owned company with sales in over 50 countries and has offices in Surrey, UK and Denver, USA with distribution centres in USA, UK, and China.

Position Overview

A key member of the Operations team responsible for end-to-end Supply Chain activities for UK business including but not limited to Purchasing, Warehousing, and Logistics

You will be a self-motivated, confident, pro-active and highly organised individual with an awareness of external influences such as legislation, FX rates and environmental pressures. With great attention to detail and the ability to multi task you will also have great communication skills developing and influencing partnerships with suppliers and other professionals.

Main Job Tasks Responsibilities for the role of Purchasing Manager / Supply Chain Manager :

  • Responsibility for all global purchasing tasks with one direct report
  • Maintaining and developing new and existing supplier relationships
  • Working with Group Demand Planner to manage inventory levels
  • Responsibility for all UK 3PL warehouse functions, including review of service levels and rates
  • Management of Inbound and Outbound freight partners, including review of service and rates
  • Negotiate pricing for NPD and re-sourcing/renegotiation of existing SKUs
  • Work with Marketing and 3PL Warehouse to co-ordinate trade shows
  • Constant review of end-to-end supply chain to help drive department and business efficiencies

* Key Competencies for the position of Purchasing Manager / Supply Chain Manager -

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • 3+ years experience within global purchasing
  • Have excellent organisation and time management with the ability to work under pressure
  • Commercial awareness and strong understanding of all aspects of supply chain
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including excellent Excel
  • Must be a self-motivated and dynamic individual
  • Car Owner
  • Have a love of animals

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems

Generic Company Information:

  • Day to day office wear - Casual
  • Hours - 9.00am to 5.00pm with ½ hour for lunch
  • 28 days' holiday (including bank holidays)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £35,000.00 to £45,000.00 /year
