Reporting to the Procurement Manager the Procurement Assistant will assist the Procurement Department to ensure the business secures the best quality, pricing, payment terms and contracts for products and services it purchases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate prices, payment terms and agree contracts for goods and services, monitoring their progress
Place orders against fully authorised requisitions
Set up and update supplier information in MRP system
Ensure delivery dates are met and goods conform to quality requirements meeting KPI's for On Time Delivery, Savings and Quality
Ensure monthly scorecards are sent to suppliers
Ensure Approved Supplier List is kept up to date and valid
Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing suppliers
Demonstrate awareness of risk and opportunity management to address low impact risks within specific scopes of work
Liaise closely with key stakeholders to ensure tasks and objectives are met in a timely manner
Support continuous improvement/process improvement opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
5 GCSEs (grade C or above) or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics
CIPS LEVEL 4 or working towards
At least 2 years procurement experience
IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft Office applications
Use of ERP/MRP systems
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and BOMs
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
travel may be required from time to time
