The Council's Digital Cornwall programme also involves a significant investment in digital solutions transforming how both residents access Council services and empowering council staff with new and innovative and enterprise class collaboration and mobility toolsets.

Information Services is on an exciting journey transforming the way it works, adopting platform, product and agile approaches to deliver technology solutions more efficiently and effectively and as such has an opportunity to join our team in the role of Infrastructure and Operations Manager. 

The person in this leadership role is accountable for the IT Infrastructure and Operations across the Cornwall Council technology estate. They are responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of all third-party and internally managed IT infrastructure used to support all business process.

This individual will have a diverse background of technical infrastructure experience, demonstrated project management acumen and excellent vendor management skills. They will be an adept leader of people and have a service-oriented approach to IT Infrastructure and Operations.

This individual will also work closely with the IT senior management team to ensure quality, efficiency, productivity and agility goals are achieved. As a member of the extended IT leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the IS strategy, ensures its alignment with the enterprise's IT and other agreed business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

Further information on the knowledge and skills required are available in the role profile but you will have significant knowledge, skills and experience in managing and operating enterprise class infrastructure platforms including public/private cloud, networking, compute, storage, recovery, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and end user devices as well as a strong vendor and stakeholder management background. Agile and product management methodology experience is desirable.
