Large National Contractor seek to appoint experienced construction PM to drive a new business strategy

Our client are a well recognised fitout and refurbishment contractor with a national footprint who have carved out a large market position for themselves in this sector in Scotland. As their business grows and further opportunities present themselves in the market they are seeking to appoint a contracts manager/project manager which a strong construction background.

Your new role

Our client have an enviable client base across all of the key sectors in the commercial market ( universities, hotels , private development etc) and require the services of an experienced project manager to help develop the construction offering of their business. The successful candidate will be involved at all stages of the project from bid management and tender management to eventual delivery of the project. As project manager you will run all elements of the project from assisting the procurement and design team to managing and directing your site teams onsite. You will be fully focused on the successful establishment and development of a new build construction business to work in tandem with the highly successful fitout and refurbishment business.

Our client are very client focused and require their contracts/project managers to be excellent communicators with a strong focus on client management and development.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of project management and delivery within the newbuild commercial construction market. Your project portfolio will ideally include projects within the university and hotel sector and you will have delivered projects up £15million in value. A trade qualification or degree in construction management is essential along with a solid understanding of how a tender is put together and won.

Knowledge of the subcontractor base and existing relationships within the tier 2 subcontractor base would be highly advantageous. Exceptional communication skills both internally and externally are essential and you must be able to influence and motivate your team to deliver a successful project.
