Based in Sevenoaks, Kent the Purchasing Assistant will place purchase, ensure timely delivery of stock and maintain supply inventory levels.

Description

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs
  • Placing orders and setting up new vendors
  • Chasing outstanding orders and ensuring timely delivery
  • Creating new product codes where required
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with our vendors
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Procurement Manager
  • Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices where possible
  • Maintain updated records of invoices

Profile

The successful Purchasing Assistant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a purchasing environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to organise and prioritise
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
