Export Operations Clerk - Heathrow
Job Purpose
Process any air, sea or road shipments from start to finish. Be a team player and support both the Sales Manager and Branch Manager when required to do so. To promote all the services that our client has to offer and provide an excellent level of customer service to existing and potential customers.
Principle Accountabilities/Tasks
- Arrange collections, bookings with carriers and negotiate the best possible buy rates.
- Ensure all telephone calls / e-mails are answered in a timely fashion.
- Prepare documentation, complete customs entries and set up job files ensuring all information is added to both the file and system.
- Ensure customers are given regular updates on the progress of their bookings and ensure they are invoiced promptly.
- Assist with any air or ocean quotes when required to do so.
- Monitor stationary levels and ensure they are replenished when they are at a level that requires them to be.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience - including technical competencies
- A sound knowledge of Airfreight and Ocean freight
- Excellent telephone manner
- An advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications I.E Excel, Word, PowerPointetc
- Excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work
- Able to work on their own initiative
- A team player who is willing to learn and adapt to any given task
- Excellent time management and able to work to tight deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Be comfortable cold calling to increase the client base
- Educated to a minimum GCSE standard
Salary will be up to £25k DOE
Mon - Fri 09.00 - 17.30
