Bid Manager - Birmingham - Permanent

Job description

Oliver William Recruitment is in search for a Bid Manager based in the Birmingham area for a company in the service industry. You will be managing large strategic bids across multiple sectors and markets. You will work closely with operations and the commercial team to write high quality bid content and you will coordinate the end-to-end bid development process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise closely with all relevant divisions throughout the bid development process to ensure high quality input.
  • Work with Operations to understand and write the technical elements of the bid.
  • Produce on-time bid submissions including assessment and circulation of documents, scheduling of bid meetings and final production.
  • Coordinate multiple RFTs, pre and post sales submission to ensure all bids are submitted on time and are of a consistently high quality.
  • Formulate and script quality bid / tender responses, create high-quality and compliant, sales and strategic proposal documents, including coordination and edit content (product related and specific bid related).
  • Build, maintain and improve content, templates and information utilised by the wider business.
  • Continually enrich the bid information library as a key resource for wider company use.
  • Maintain excellent internal relationships, understanding who to go to in order to gather relevant information.
  • Solicit feedback on bids to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on tender outcomes for continual improvement.
  • Source new opportunities through TenderScout platform and eSourcing websites.

What we need from you

  • Candidates should have either industry experience or be educated to degree level (English, Marketing or Law qualifications are favourable).
  • Articulate; ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated, competitive and results driven.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a 'can do’ attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise requirements, whilst maintaining a focus on quality work.
  • Good time management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • APMP Certification
  • 4+ Years developing proposals end-to-end
  • Proven success in delivering proposals
  • Demonstrable evidence of managing proposals to budget/time/quality parameters
  • Excellent writing skills
