Logistics Admin Assistant - Food Commodities

A small but successful independent food commodities trading company based in the North London NW4 area are seeking a logistics assistant to join their growing team.
The role would suit someone with a degree (or equivalent) in logistics and approximately 2 years hands-on experience in an international business or commodities trading environment


CORE DUTIES

  • Logistics and transportation: shipment mainly by vessel and road
  • Complete contracts administration, from issue through execution up to invoicing, ensuring goods are despatched on time and all problems dealt with
  • Execution of contracts to include issuing shipping instructions, checking documents, liaising with freight forwarders and shipping companies, dealing with banks
  • Invoicing
  • Ensuring goods are despatched on time
  • Liaising with parties to ensure information is transferred appropriately
  • Keeping traders up-dated with contract status
  • Controlling and recording of each contract and ensuring that it is executed within T&Cs
  • Maintaining spreadsheets


IDEAL APPLICANT

  • Degree or similar in logistics
  • Solid knowledge of Incoterms
  • 2-3 years of hands-on international logistics experience in an international business (ideally commodities trading) environment
  • Organisational and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Clear English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ideally fluency in another key international language
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel
