Logistics Admin Assistant - Food Commodities
A small but successful independent food commodities trading company based in the North London NW4 area are seeking a logistics assistant to join their growing team.
The role would suit someone with a degree (or equivalent) in logistics and approximately 2 years hands-on experience in an international business or commodities trading environment
CORE DUTIES
- Logistics and transportation: shipment mainly by vessel and road
- Complete contracts administration, from issue through execution up to invoicing, ensuring goods are despatched on time and all problems dealt with
- Execution of contracts to include issuing shipping instructions, checking documents, liaising with freight forwarders and shipping companies, dealing with banks
- Invoicing
- Ensuring goods are despatched on time
- Liaising with parties to ensure information is transferred appropriately
- Keeping traders up-dated with contract status
- Controlling and recording of each contract and ensuring that it is executed within T&Cs
- Maintaining spreadsheets
IDEAL APPLICANT
- Degree or similar in logistics
- Solid knowledge of Incoterms
- 2-3 years of hands-on international logistics experience in an international business (ideally commodities trading) environment
- Organisational and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Clear English communication skills (oral and written)
- Ideally fluency in another key international language
- Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel
