Operations Manager

Chase and Holland are proud to be supporting an extremely successful business based in Sheffield who are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join their senior team.

This exceptional opportunity will see you develop the Supply Chain and Operations functions for the business by continuously driving improvements in efficiency, accuracy and productivity. You will lead and develop a team and this role will allow you to utilise both your hands on operational and forward thinking strategic knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and improve the efficiency of operations within the distribution department including outbound freight, safe & clear storage of inventory and overall management of the Warehouse & Workshop
• Agree, implement and then monitor the achievement of all departmental KPI's, ensuring accurate recording of information to enable the KPI's to be measured
• Assess and then recommend the implementation of appropriate systems to increase the efficiency of our distribution
• Focus on improving the efficiencies between Warehouse department and other functions
• Recruit, train and develop colleagues across the Warehouse & Workshop functions (lead a team of 10)
• Be the lead Health & Safety representative and ensure all staff and visitors to the site are compliant with regulations
• Ensure the wider organisation is compliant with the latest data protection legislation
• Maintain a safe and secure Warehouse, Workshop and Office environment through effective facilities management
• Ensure the building and equipment is regularly inspected and maintained in line with manufacturer and health & safety guidelines
• Regularly review suppliers (couriers, hauliers, packaging materials, pallets, cartons etc) on pricing and performance against competitors

Who is right for this role?

The right person will have operated at a similar level before and will be a natural leader of people. You'll have experience of identifying and implementing procedures to improve processes across functions along with an up to date knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations and experience of maintaining company compliance.

It would be great if you've got a working knowledge of SAP and it goes without saying you'll be an effective negotiator and great influencer. On occasion there will be the need for occasional travel to other international offices.

Hours of work - 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
