Procurement Manager - Leicester - Construction

Your new role
Responsible for setting clear purchasing strategy and leading the Procurement team to ensure
adherence to achieve overall profitability of projects. Also responsible for ensuring that all procurement activities within the project are focused on achieving the business vision and objectives and for taking the initiative to improve processes, ways of working and productivity.
* Contributes to discussions to set the Procurement Strategy, goals and KPIs and manage the
application of that strategy within the Procurement team, leading that team to achieve the
strategy; review and set improvement strategies for the Procurement KPIs.
* Negotiates and manages supplier plant and material rebates
* Builds relationships with suppliers and conducts price negotiations with key accounts, attending
supplier meetings as required
* Negotiates payment terms and cash discounts
* Maintains awareness of products and implications to the business
* Tracks and monitors waste monthly
* Ensures the business is notified of price increases
* Sets standard 'bill of materials' and provide to Estimating
* Produces senior management and board reports
* Directly manages a team of 3 buyers.
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience in leading a managing a team is desirable
- A strong and successful background in construction related to the construction industry
- Ability to use Excel, word, outlook to a high standard
- Strong organizational skills; methodical and accurate with numbers and written form
