Purchasing Assistant

Chase & Holland are proud to be working with a highly successful nationwide business who have a base in Chesterfield. They are looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting directly to a very experienced Purchasing Manager, this role will provide you with a succession plan through study support and development to help grow your career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Purchasing Manager in the sourcing and procurement of parts and services as required
• Contacting suppliers and sourcing items at best possible price
• Ordering of parts for Central Stores, expedite, receive and verify parts to complete order
• Stock control - Manage used parts salvage and storage; labelling parts, uploading image to database for easy identification and scrapping of obsolete and unwanted items
• Ensure all material handling is conducted in an environmentally friendly way in accordance with our Health Safety Environmental Policies and Procedures
• To fully comply with the relevant requirements of the Health Safety and Environmental regulations and the company's procedures relating there to
• Occasional travel to other sites when required

Who should apply?

The role needs someone who has at least 12 months purchasing experience. It would be highly advantageous if you had knowledge of mechanical/automotive components. You'll be happy working as part of a small team and will also have a driving license as there will be some occasional travel needed to other sites around the UK.

Hours of work - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm
