My client, an award winning, national housing developer are looking to hire a Senior Construction Manager to manage multiple sites across Essex. My client who have a number of prestigious projects demand a very high quality of professionalism throughout their business.

They have a long history of delivering much needed, high quality new housing in Essex and continue to do so. They have a number of developments underway across the county, providing new apartments and houses

Duties-

  • Run Multiple existing projects across Essex whilst reporting directly in to the Construction Director
  • Have input in to the buildability and any design changes
  • Oversee any contractual issues
  • Will have commercial awareness including P&L's, any delays and any changes to build design
  • Will be responsible for all sub-contractors regarding any issues
  • Working with the QS to ensure cost and planning is correct whilst working in line with programme
  • Providing clear direction to the on-site construction team regarding responsibilities and targets
  • Managing the day to day operation from foundation to completion, and the critical paths for labour, materials and plant, including material lead times
  • Ensuring the development is completed in accordance with specification and the build programme
  • Providing accurate and regular reports on progress and dates
  • Controlling additional costs for non-productive costs and prelim expenditure
  • Driving through quality at every stage of the construction process
  • Ensuring the development pass internal and external inspection processes
  • Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are followed and adhered to
  • Taking responsibility for self-development and the development of others
  • Monitoring and controlling the quality of production and approve stage completions to payments to sub-contractors
  • Ensuring any remedial work is completed prior to occupation
  • Ensuring customer service remains of the highest priority at all times with everyone on site


Qualifications-

  • Senior experience, either as a Project Manager, Build manager or Contracts Manager
  • Pre-construction & Commercial knowledge would be an advantage
  • Previous Housing Development Experience
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid

The above qualifications are required as a minimum. Previous NHBC awards are also desirable.
