Based from my client’s Head Office - commutable from Dorset, Poole, Salisbury, Yeovil, Christchurch, Eastleigh, Winchester, Dorchester, Southampton, Bournemouth

This rare opportunity has arisen to join an outstanding manufacturer as Planner Buyer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves when needed and enjoy a role with autonomy and diverse responsibilities in a low volume, high quality environment.

My client design, develop and manufacture a wide range of engineering equipment. They are an expanding manufacturer, consistently growing year on year, and have many exciting plans in the pipeline to further improve their manufacturing function. At the forefront of their industry, they are recognised as one of the most innovative and technically advanced manufacturers globally.

The Role: Planner Buyer

  • Schedule, procure and control all materials for the company
  • Liaise with existing suppliers, identify new suppliers, negotiating and involving yourself technically - all suppliers are locally based, travel will be minimal
  • Implement changes aiming at cost reduction and efficiency for stock holding and manufacturing
  • Utilise the ERP system to ensure products are ordered on time

The Candidate

The following points are beneficial:

  • Experience in an SME environment (small or medium sized company)
  • Experience or knowledge in engineering - able to read engineering drawings
  • Purchasing, supply chain, buying or associated experience
  • An autonomous, proactive and process driven personality with the desire to implement processes and systems to improve the performance of the company’s procurement and materials usage
