12 month Fixed Term Contract for a Contracts Manager

Your new company
You will be joining a public sector body based in Birmingham City Centre about a 10 minute walk from Moor Street Station. They are established and have a well structured Contracts team which they are looking to hire for to due to the current Contract Manager going on maternity leave, it will initially be a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Your new role
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following:

  • To manage projects, contracts and tenders allocated to them and oversee the timely and accurate progression of operationally significant purchases.
  • To prepare and progress contract arrangements for the supply of goods, services and works. Where appropriate engage in negotiations in accordance with internal Standing Orders.
  • To ensure adherence to EU procurement regulations, Health and Safety legislation, financial regulations and administrative procedures in relation to managing contracts, tenders and quotations.
  • To liaise with suppliers and external bodies and to foster user relationships to ensure that the goods or services purchased meet their need.
  • To represent the Service on key regional and national procurement projects.
  • To maintain an awareness of Public Sector Frameworks Agreements
  • To draft/update specifications and purchase products ensuring stock and service levels are maintained.
  • To establish and maintain a contract renewal programme ensuring existing contracts are renewed on time.


What you'll need to succeed
The key factors for success in this role are:

  • Experience of running end to end OJEU Procurement
  • Be preferably working towards a CIPS membership
  • Have experience in working in a similar role preferably Contract Management
