Supplier Quality Development Engineer - Purchasing

Supplier Quality Development Engineer - Purchasing opportunity with Global OEM Automotive organisation.  Due to organic team growth our client, a Global automotive manufacturer, are recruiting for passionate automotive engineers to join as Supplier Quality Development Engineers with a well-rounded background and knowledge and passion for design and production / manufacturing.  

Our client works collaboratively with their suppliers and this role sits within the engineering arm of purchasing, which provides support to suppliers from product development through to pre-production and into mass production, applying continuous improvement principles to ensure supplier parts achieve requirements.  

Supplier Quality Development Engineer - Purchasing Responsibilities: 

• Provide the link between our client and their component suppliers developing new products for the next generation of cars in Europe

• Take responsibility from product development through to pre-production and into mass production using our clients unique production preparation methodology and teamwork approach

• You are leading the preparation team of design, quality & logistics professionals internally and externally, monitoring the planning and development activities of a group of suppliers throughout Europe in a specific commodity area

• Continuously promote innovations and improvements, ensuring on-time preparation leading to the successful introduction of your parts into mass production

• Work together with your suppliers, improve and develop their mass production performance in the areas of quality, delivery and productivity

Supplier Quality Development Engineer - Purchasing Requirements:  

• Degree in Engineering - Mechanical/Production / Manufacturing or similar

• You have minimum 2 years of experience in Quality / Production / Industrial Eng. / Logistics department preferably in the automotive or mass production environment

• Strong planning and organisation skills

• Enjoy working in a team, respecting others

• A creative mind and passion for cars

• Excellent communication and project management skills

• A proactive hands-on approach and outgoing personality

• You have an analytical mind-set

• You are willing to travel frequently (60% of time at Suppliers)
