Providing a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the leading manufacturers in the Midlands, a leading, instantly recognised brand, experiencing a period of massive growth.
The role calls for a highly experienced and knowledgable procurement expert with specific skills in indirect commodities such as facilities, IT, fleet and other support services.
The main aim of the role is to develop strategies to achieve cost reductions and improved quality and delivery with indirect commodity suppliers.
Specific duties
The creation of a commodity strategy that incorporates all group global expenditure
To control and lead contract negotiations with suppliers whilst communicating with internal departments to understand their requirements and understanding where opportunities may exist.
To be responsible for sourcing, price negotiations and contract placement for nominated commodities. This includes ultimate responsibility for supplier quality and delivery performance.
To ensure that risk strategies are in place for the key commodities and suppliers.
Control and measure commercial contracts ensuring compliance at all times
To be responsible for driving service improvements and innovative product introduction from existing and new sources of supply, ensuring best practice is used.
Achieve year on year cost savings
Requirements
Proven purchasing experience within a multi-site, multi-national company with at least 5 years experience in an indirect environment.
Ideally with some exposure of global purchasing and strong commercial experience, namely financial awareness, quotation analysis and budget management. An excellent track record of delivering projects to agreed time plans.
You will be well organised and be able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills with knowledge of legal frameworks.
A distinct advantage would be knowledge of SAP
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
Preferably CIPS qualified.
