Our client is seeking to recruit a Buyer to join the Operations Department. This is a full-time role, which requires meticulous attention to detail and will encompass ownership of the Procurement function.
Role:
- Strategic sourcing and re-sourcing of product, particularly in-sourcing
- Consolidate shipments on lines with high freight costs relative to value
- Work closely with the Planning team to ensure efficient conversion of planned purchase demand into delivered product
- Coordinate with the Service Administrator to ensure the effective placing of purchase orders and first-line confirmations
- Assume responsibility for follow ups, delayed orders and due date reporting on Sage 200
- Develop strategies to reduce COGS across our finished goods and component range
- Procurement lead for NPI processes and product life-cycle management
- Sage 200 part set-up
- Maintain and improve overdue order measures
- Devise and maintain supplier rating system
