Senior Product Category Manager

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield

Salary: £50k - £55k

A leading nationwide manufacturer experiencing tremendous growth is seeking a Senior Product Category Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for developing designated product categories and focusing on opportunities to improve profitability of the existing range.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Product Management department and be the expert for a number of specific product categories
  • Develop and run product management systems and processes
  • Establish market size and identify opportunities, routes to market, product features and benefits and proposed price points
  • Produce a Market and Product Requirements Document (MPRD) for each category
  • Co-ordinate the development of New Product Introduction (NPI) propositions and Continuous Product Development (CPD)
  • Execute all new product launches and existing product re-launches.
  • Prepare and deliver all NPI and CPD staff training programmes on a regular basis
  • Assist commercial teams to resolve customer complaints
  • Analyse internal performance of product categories using SAP and other data
  • Identify and produce proposed action plans to address weak performance areas and develop and communicate best practice performance guides
  • Ensure agreed Product Category sales and profit targets are met

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ideally degree educated with experience in a Category/Product Management position within a B2B environment
  • Construction sector experience is crucial in this role
  • Results focussed with a proven track record of analysing and evaluating marketing opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills with an ability to influence others
